Meet the York County Current Team


Caroline Crooke is a student editor and head writer of The York County Current. She serves as a South Carolina 4-H Ambassador, Vice President of York County 4-H Teen Council, and President of the Hotshots Competition Team and Natural Resources Club. She is a member of the 4-H Bluegrass Project and has been a part of 4-H for seven years. Caroline plans to study veterinary science at Clemson.


Evie Martell is a student editor, photographer and social media manager for The York County Current. She serves as South Carolina 4-H STEM Ambassador, Scribe of York County Teen Council, Secretary of the Fort Mill Community Club and student leader of the 4-H Joyful Noise Choir. She has been in 4-H for seven years and has been a volunteer photographer for York County 4-H for three years. Evie is interested in science, history and education and plans to study museum studies.


Austin Page is the visual media editor for The York County Current. He is a photographer and videographer and columnist for Pet of the Month. He is a member of York County 4-H Teen Council, serves as Fort Mill 4-H Club Historian, and is a member and of the 4-H Joyful Noise Choir. He is active in 4-H STEM, engineering and rocketry projects. When he is not writing, Austin enjoys photography and hanging out with his pets.


Addie Page is a writer for The York County Current. She is a member of York County 4-H Teen Council, serves as Fort Mill 4-H Club Treasurer, and is a founding member and student leader of the 4-H Joyful Noise Choir. She is active in 4-H agriculture projects and enjoys horseback riding and raising poultry including quail.


Varad Lohokare is a writer for The York County Current. He is a member of York County 4-H Teen Council and serves as Fort Mill 4-H Club President. He is active in 4-H STEM and agriscience projects. Varad’s interests include veterinary science, poultry, horseback riding and entomology.


Gabriella Ortiz is a writer for The York County Current. She is President of the Pumpkin Pie Dairy Goat Club and club reporter for the Happy Hooves horse club. She has been a part of 4-H for four years. She is interested in horses and goats and has participated in the State Horse Communications, Horse Bowl, Hippology and Judging competitions. She is Chair of Community Service in the Oakridge Middle School FFA. She hopes to attend Clemson University.


Ivy Prince is the Horry County correspondent for The York County Current.  She serves as a South Carolina State ambassador and president of the Loris 5-H 4-H club. Ivy has been a 4-H member for six years. Ivy is also a 2025 4-H Youth in Action program finalist and serves on the 4-H Youth Voice Cohort. She enjoys participating in 4-H healthy living and service projects.  Ivy is a dual enrollment student at the International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach working towards majoring in Culinary Arts Technology.
